May 15, 2010 ![]() Khmer New Year 2010 On April 10th, 2010 CAOV hosted the annual Khmer New Year to celebrate the rich and beautiful Cambodian culture. A night of joy and excitement, many have gathered with friends and family for the celebration. CAOV would like to thank Watt Bodhikaram, Watt Ratanak Pratib, Culture Shock, --------. On the night of January 23rd, 2010 CAOV held a fundraiser for the 30th Anniversary as well as commerating the New Year. With the special visit of the guest-singer Konyaa Socheary, the Cambodian community enjoyed a night of dance and music. Special thanks to the FriendShip band and to all those participated.
![]() Bon Somaki - Day
On the morning of January 23rd, 2010 with the help of the various Cambodian groups in the Ottawa-Valley, these groups were able to bring together the Cambodian community to celebrate Bon Somaki. The monks of Watt Ratanak Pratib and Watt Bodhikaram gave their blessing and wishes to the people. Once done, the people gathered together to feast on the food provided by many attendees and by the Cambodian groups within the Ottawa-Valley. CAOV would like to give a special thanks to; Watt Ratanak Pratib, Watt Bodhikaram, Sam-Rainsy Party, Soma Selepak, NGO Cambodia-Canada, and to all those participated.
Youth Fundraising Event 2009 Cambodian Community Family Picnic 2009 ![]() Khmer New Year 2009 Our New Year Celebration took place on April 11, 2009. More than 500 people attended the festivities that included praying, community leader speeches, traditional dancing, ancient fighting demonstrations and of course plentiful and delicious food. Khmer New Year is not just a great traditional festival for Cambodian, but it is also a day of unity and togetherness for people of Cambodian descent worldwide. We would like to thank Watt Bodhikaram and Watt Ratanak Pratib for coming together to give the Cambodian community a blessing for the New Year. Thanks to Golden Hearts of Cambodia and South East Asian Fighting Academy for entertaining us with a dance performance and a fighting presentation. Much appreciation to Ros Sophira, Khunvanna, and the Friendship Band for ending the night with splendid pieces of Cambodian music. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this years Khmer New Year.
CAOV Fundraising Party The Cambodian Association-Ottawa Valley held a Fundraising Party on Saturday December 13th, 2008. The night was successful where alot of people enjoyed our local music FriendShip band and our guest-singer from Cambodian Pao Socheata. Thanks to our community for the support and sponsor.
Cambodian Community Family Picnic 2008
On August 16, 2008 CAOV host a Cambodian Community Family Picnic at Vincent Massey Park, Ottawa, ON starting from 8:30am to 6:00pm. There were alot of outdoor games and activies such as, eating contest, jumping bag, toss balloons, pulling rope, Sey-ta-kor (brought in by Indonasian community members), volley ball tournament and Khmer karaoke. As part of our community we also setup a donation box to help Cambodian Soldier at Preah Vihear Temple and collect over $900.00 as well.
![]() Celebrate Canada Day
Cambodian Association-Ottawa Valley and SWCHC were celebrating Celebrate Canada on FRIDAY June 27, 2008 at Tombrown Arena hall where over 100 people enjoyed Soma Selepak Khmer Art/Cultural displayed, Khmer local DJ music, Cambodian Classical Boung Soung Dance show and Khmer food. Special thanks to Soma Selepak (Art/Cultural display and costum), Mrs. Polly Pen (dance show), other display group, Khmer local DJ music, food and the volunteer who made that evenening a success event.
![]() Cambodian New Year 2008 Celebration CAOV celebrating Cambodian NewYear 2008 at St-Anthony Italia Soccer Hall with approximately 700 people were attended. There were many groups performed thier best on stage that night. Thanks to Soma Selepak Culture dance's troops, DoungJet Khmer Jeat Khmer dance's troop, Doung Jet Classical music band, Friendship band, Ottawa School of dance, Khmer boxing and many other volunteers who help participating the event.

The night were successful with alot of people enjoyed our local music FriendShip band played until 1am. Thanks to all our community supports and our sponsors.
![]() Khmer Idol 2008 The Cambodian Association-Ottawa Valley held a Khmer Idol try-out on Sunday January 13, 2008. The were 13 compititors attended. The qualifiers were schedule to compete on February 2, 2008 2nd Annual Fundraising party.
